Your Wedding Day

When you make your booking, you need to return your signed contract and pay the deposit. I will get some basic details off you at this point about locations, contact details etc. The rest of your payment is required 2 months prior to your Wedding Day. You can contact me as much (...or as little) as you need to, leading up to your wedding, with any ideas or questions, or changes to the locations. Email is preferred, but you can ring or text me too :)

About a month before your wedding day, we will meet up and go over the details of your day. The week before your wedding, I will email you the details I have, and make any changes required.

On the day:

You can choose what you want me for on the wedding day.
I can come to the hair & makeup, and/or take your 'getting ready' photos.

Some girls choose to have some 'location' photos with their bridesmaids and/or family, prior to the ceremony. It's a good idea to decide this early in the arrangements, so you book your hair & makeup in early, so its not a rush on the day. The best part is, you choose what you want, and it doesn't cost any extra for the longer hours! For example, If you just want a handful of 'hair' photos, I will come to the hairdressers and do those, then meet up again with you later for getting ready photos.

The plus side of having two photographers, is that Greg can go to the groom, while I stay with the girls! So they can have getting ready photos as well, location photos if they want (as long as it is a different spot to the girls!), or just walking to the ceremony and waiting for the bride to arrive!

The other plus side of having two photographers is that you get photos from different angles, and if one of us is changing cards or batteries, the other one keeps shooting, so nothing gets missed!

It is a good idea to plan your location photos before the day, so the drivers know where they are going incase you get separated. It is recommended you do your family photos after the ceremony if possible, and only bring your bridal party to the location photos. It is also important to remember, that no-one other than Greg or myself, are allowed to take photos at the location photos, as it is too time-consuming, and distracting for the bridal party.

We will stay and cover your reception, including the actual cutting of the cake and bridal waltz, and also throwing of the bouquet and anything else you have planned for the night. If you have anything 'special' planned, be sure to let us know prior to the day.

Usually, once the formalities are over, we will get a few candid shots of the dancing before we leave for the night!

After the wedding, I will go through your photos individually, removing red eyes & blemishes, and making sure each and every photo is right. When your proofs are ready, I will email you with the details and you can view them online at www.orderyourprints.com/leahlloydphotography

If needed, these can be password protected, and you can forward the link to all of your friends and family, and they can order photos directly though me so you don't need to chase money! You will have a mix of colour, B&W and collage prints to choose from.

You will need to proof your album on my computer prior to it going to print, and you will receive the CD, album and canvas print as soon as they are all completed!

Wedding Day Hints:

1. Getting ready photos are a good idea to help build a rapport with the photographer prior to the ceremony

2. Try to limit the number of people and children you have with you getting ready

3. Carry a little bag with you with your engagement ring, lipstick – anything you might need for your photos!

4. Only bring people that need to be in your photos to your location (in between ceremony & reception) – too many spectators can make it embarrassing for the bridal party to ‘pose’ and difficult to organise. It is a good idea to bring your parents and brothers/sisters and do photos with them first so they can get back to your guests

5. Make sure someone has the rings!

6. Carry some safety pins and double-sided tape for dress malfunctions J

7. Make your kiss long enough that it can be photographed (but not so long that your guests need to look away) J

8. Throw a glance my way every now and then, I might need you to move a few centimetres this way or that and will give you a small signal (there’s nothing worse than getting your photos back and looking like there is a pot plant or pole growing out of your head)

9. Have fun – smile a lot – it makes for really nice photos J

10. If you have an idea for a photo, or a picture from a magazine you really like, give it to me before the wedding and we’ll give it a go!

11. If you have any special requests for your photos please discuss it with me prior to the wedding day

12. It is important to tell your family and bridal party, that when there are a lot of people taking photos, to make sure they keep their eyes on the professional photographer – it is very obvious in the group photos when people have their eyes facing another camera.
